Assetto Corsa EVO

EARLY ACCESS 0.9

Assetto Corsa EVO 0.9 focuses on competition. Special Events introduce worldwide online leaderboards across hotlap and hotstint formats, mandatory pitstop requirements restore tactical depth to online racing, and a new tyre model for racing slicks raises handling fidelity across GT racing cars from Mazda MX5 Cup to Ferrari F40. Alongside these, 0.9 delivers a broad force feedback reliability pass, continued renderer optimisation, and three new cars.

This release provides many reasons to come back in game after summer time: a global leaderboard to climb, a race strategy to plan, and a car that behaves more faithfully underneath you.

SPECIAL EVENTS — WORLDWIDE ONLINE LEADERBOARDS –

Special Events are pre-determined scenarios — fixed car, track, conditions and time of day — that every player attempts under identical terms, ranked on a worldwide leaderboard. Two event types are available: Hotlap, for a single definitive lap, and Hotstint, which tracks total gaps to nearby drivers at every sector line across a sustained run. Both support an optional Limited Attempts setting, reintroducing the pressure of a session that counts.

MANDATORY PITSTOPS — STRATEGY ENTERS THE RACE –

Mandatory pitstop requirements are now available in timed online races above twenty minutes, with a configurable pit window set by the server administrator. Drivers plan their strategy through the MFD: stop lap, tyre choice, pressures, and fuel load.

NEW RACING SLICK TYRE MODEL –

An updated tyre model for racing slicks is deployed across GT racing cars from Mazda MX5 Cup to Ferrari F40, raising the consistency and fidelity of the platform's core handling across the competition roster.

FORCE FEEDBACK AND INPUT –

Force feedback devices now recover automatically after a disconnection or alt-tab across DirectInput, Fanatec, Logitech and Thrustmaster hardware. FFB output shaping is now available via a linearisation LUT. Haptic audio has been reworked, with FullForce DSP operating on the filtered signal and Logitech TrueForce gaining a 350 Hz low-pass filter and DSP reinitialisation on wheel handle change.

About Assetto Corsa EVO

Assetto Corsa EVO raises the bar of realism that has made the franchise one of the most popular driving simulations of the last decade even higher.

As with its predecessor, Assetto Corsa EVO will include cars from different classes spanning across years of motoring history. From road cars, classics, hypercars, and race cars. The most iconic representation of the automotive and motorsport world. Each vehicle is reproduced through Kunos in-house physics and graphic engine simulating mechanical, electronic, and aerodynamic performance, combined with the fidelity of the circuits created using Laserscan technology.

Throughout Early Access, you will experience a continuously expanding range of vehicles, tracks, and game modes, evolving towards our full 1.0 launch.

With the launch of a new KUNOS Simulazioni proprietary, high-performance photorealistic engine, VR and triple screen support have become first-class features and the new mathematical model meticulously simulates asphalt performance in different dynamic weather conditions that guarantees an authentic and realistic experience which will redefine the standards that have made Assetto Corsa globally renowned.

Free Camera Mode (Early Version)

Version 0.5 introduces Free Camera mode, letting players explore the car, environment, and action from new angles. It enables capturing replays and screenshots or videos using external tools. The mode is still in development and more features, such as photo-mode features, will follow at a later stage based on community feedback.

Graphics & Technology Updates – DLSS 4.5

0.5 includes an update to DLSS 4.5, continuing the work on performance scalability and image quality across a wider range of hardware configurations. The aim remains consistent: make steps towards the best quality to performance ratio.

Gameplay Improvements and Ongoing Development

UI: Car Selection Flow & Multiplayer Player Car, Controls Page

Thanks to an improved car selection UI and backend multiplayer updates, server admins and the Daily Racing Portal can now define eligible cars more precisely—down to version and visuals—allowing players to join Daily Races using their own tuned cars and body colours.

Track Limits and Blue Flags

Track limit penalties can feel harsh or unpredictable, so in 0.5 we’re continuing work on a time-gain evaluation system to better match penalties with actual advantage. This feature is still being tested and will roll out fully once it meets competitive standards. Blue flag logic has also been introduced to help drivers better read race conditions.

Shared Memory improvements

Shared memory issues have been fixed to match previous titles, prevent hardware shaking during loading, and restore full data quality for motion rigs and related devices.

Dynamic Track: rework underway

Dynamic Track is being reworked to improve rubber buildup, water behaviour, multiplayer support, and server sync. Version 0.5 brings rubbering visual shader upgrades, while core improvements will arrive later—consider this an essential infrastructure update with more visible results coming soon.
